In 2009, ANDE hosted the first Metrics from the Ground Up conference in partnership with the Grassroots Business Fund. This event dedicated two days to the discussion of impact measurement. It brought together data wonks, evaluation specialists, technology gurus, and SGB sector practitioners - the whole ecosystem of people we needed to start building intelligence on the sector. 

Since then, ANDE has hosted its Metrics Conference every year, and sources discussion topic and conference themes from emerging measurement practices among our members. Past Metrics Conference events have focused on: 

• Standardization around a common language to compare and aggregate our individual data 
• Building the evidence base and designing evidence-based interventions
• Using impact data to make decisions
• Creating a culture of measurement
